I dropped the Avis car back at Coolangatta Airport and
then walked from there to Phillip`s house.
Still early morning and the sun was shining, birds
were singing; just a wonderful day.
A beach shower - you come up from the beach and then just
rinse yourself off. Very convenient.
Pandanus trees.
From Bilinga looking northwards to Surfers Paradise.
Elephant Rock.
There were some whales breaching offshore however
my camera could not capture the action, unfortunately.
Still, it was wonderful to see them frolic.
Look hard - you just might see some white water where
a whale had breached.
Hello, Mr. Butcher Bird.
You are looking chirpy today.
I happened upon some seagulls and wild pelicans enjoying the day
on a sand bank in Currumbin Creek.
Australian wildflowers are so different to Japanese flowers.
Both are special in their own way.
Australian-sized garbage truck.
Kind of bigger than the Japanese variety.
Phillip`s dog, JAM, waiting for the fridge door to miraculously open.
Voila ! The door did indeed open..... time to survey the food
held therein and hope for a treat.
Aren`t I the softie ??
Jam scored a bread roll; no butter.
In the afternoon I met Geoffrey outside Currumbin Sands
and he drove me in the Futura up to Surfers to meet up
with Andrea and Declan.
Dec had jetted in solo on Singapore Airlines - London /Singapore/ Brisbane
the previous morning.
It was wonderful to see them all again after one year.
No Sam this trip, Chickako will arrive soon.
Nice smile ! Especially when recovering from jetlag.
We had coffee at Charlie Chaplin`s at Surfers Paradise.
Some Gold Coast Meter Maids strolled by - different to how I
remember them from the 1960s.
We decided to have dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Surfers.
American style food which means high calories, obviously.
Beetroot ! How I love thee......
So difficult to get in Japan.
Fun dinner and then they drove back to Brisbane in Andie`s care
and I took the Futura with Dec down to Burleigh.
