Sunday in the Park

Sunday

It is a fine day, about 25C and a little sultry. 

We decided not to do housework but to go to the park 

for a picnic instead. 

Luncheon is served. 

There is wonderful woodland with a fast-flowing stream.  Perfect for a casual ramble .

Maple tree, I think. 

Of special interest to me is the amazing rose garden.

Natural spires look so much better than the artificial one. 

Ice cream is perfect on a hot afternoon.  Bit of a queue in the shop.

Unbelievably, there are still patches of snow high up on the surrounding mountains. 

The centre peak is Mt. Adatara. 

The very substantial rock walls were part of an ancient water diversion from the nearby river.

Saturday Night.

Saturday Night

We decided to go out to dinner 

not only after work but also after doing the grocery shopping.

So, a late night event. 

Full moon was yesterday, Black Friday June 13th; 

my photos are plus one day. Still it was a magical sight. 

We strolled uptown ......... 

 This City was packed with people out and about enjoying themselves. 

Nice to see ......... 

Chikako-san enjoying a pre-dinner beer. 

The snack was spicy..... wonderful. 

 Sooooooooooo  delicious ....... yum, yum. 

Followed by spaghetti and then an omelette to boot. 

Walking back, I tried to take more happy snaps

of the moon.  Not my best shots, unfortunately. 

The small courtyard garden at our apartment building. 

Street frontage. Azaleas are just past their prime. 

Our foyer should be an indoor garden methinks, 

instead of featuring one solitary plant.

Monday Coffee

I had this rainy Monday off from work 

although Chikako had to work in That City. 

After she returned to This City, we met up 

for coffee at Starbucks located in the station. 

Brief interlude in the day. 

Birthday

It was Chikako's birthday however she was in Sendai today. 

This gave me time to prepare a birthday dinner for her. 

I spent the afternoon moving plants here and there. 

 I baked a fish. 

Plus birthday cake !

My late maternal grandmother whom I never met. 
She died a month before I was born.
